I saw a post today perpetuating the myth that it's too expensive to eat healthy. The post shows 2 shopping trolleys, 1 has a pkt of chicken breast the other contains an array of snack food and soft drink. Both cost $14.
Aside from this being from NZ, it's comparing chalk n cheese, and it's not realistic in Australia.
There are many cheap, healthy foods, you just need to be a bit proactive. Avoid large supermarkets for your fresh produce, buy your fruit n veg from a green grocer, you may need to have a look around, but I guarantee you'll find a good, cheap one. Get meats from Tasman or on special at your local butcher. You could even join forces with friends and a few of you chip in for a bulk meat pack to share. Join a co op to buy cheap fruit n veg direct from the farm.
More than 200 years ago, Samuel Hahnemann knew that poor nutrition was both a cause and a maintaining factor in disease, and it was one of his 'obstacles to cure'.
If you're not supplying your body with the energy and nutrients required for normal function, how can you expect to remain healthy? And if you're unwell, any treatment method you choose will only offer superficial gains.
All of this magnificent deliciousness only cost $30! Including the scrumptious container of fresh honey still in the honey comb, yum!! The bananas at the front were only $1 per bag, perfect for making banana bread & smoothies! And all the capsicums were also in a bag for $1. Cant beat that value!
